Yeah... its a little late - but a lot of love went into it.

She said she wanted something for the shanks luffy pairing, and I sat back and thought about that. I havn't really done much One Peice fan art in over a year. I blame fox for killing my fandom, which made going back to One Peice a little more difficult at first. I thought of the standard, Shanks holding child luffy on his shoulder happily... but that sort of felt like a cop-out. I just couldn't put enough emotion behind it.

So it occured to me, that Shanks only let Luffy borrow his hat, which means Luffy's going to have to give it back some day. Which means Luffy's going to be hone hell of a bad ass when he does so. I'm not sure how to properly express all the reasons why I sort of feel drawn to this aspect of the Shanks Luffy thing... but there it is, interpret as you will.
