The background is left blank intentionally.
This is Aya, the mascott for my anime club. She's been drawn in many different ways before, but I've never seen anyone draw her in a "sexy" pose, so I did so... or at least as best as I can tell. Anyway, on the club website, my wretched 6 or however year old picture of Aya cosplaying as Lina Inverse is STILL on the main page... and I just couldn't take it anymore, so I caved to Basil's constant pleas for new art and drew her. In the high res photoshop format, which I'll be sending to the webmasters as soon as they're online, there is no background at all so that they can manipulated the picture however they need be.
I tried to limit my pallete on this character... but its very hard to only use 5 colors on a figure when the pre design already requires me to use ALL the primaries, plus a flesh tone, before I even start thinking about what cloths to put on her- so instead I just incorporated colors found on the website. They're the lighter versions of the website's colors... so hopefully that'll help it integrate better... but quite frankly I imagine just about anything will integrate better than the current hot pink and yellow atrocity that is my high school attempts at coloring.
The sort of hyper highlight shading style was what I had in mind when I was doing the line work for this peice, however I'm not so sure that it looks better than the flat color... I may play around with it with different shading styles. Again, not that anyone but me can tell a difference between one "style" and the next....
When is enough enough... What difference does it make when popular artist vent vent vent and support a site that tolerates deviant behaviour. HA! no wonder its all in a name.
Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.

Dewdrops of sadness,
tears fall as I weep.
I catch them as they harden,
white pearls I shall keep.
